Catherine Buxton


Catherine Larson Buxton is a corporate training professional with over 20 years experience in curriculum development, instructional design, platform delivery, client relationship building, and executive level management. Ms. Buxton was a vice president and member of the senior management team of a multi-million dollar international project management training company. She had responsibility for the Product Development Division with a professional staff of 45 associates and a supporting group of independent contractors with subject matter expertise. Prior to assuming this leadership role in the organization, Ms. Buxton was a director for the Client Programs Division. She managed $11 million in annual training revenue personally and supervised activities of direct reports for a total annual revenue stream of $20 million.

Ms. Buxton worked with companies in a variety of industries in support of their project management endeavors. Major clients included Sprint, Motorola, Weyerhaeuser, Convergys, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, and Goodrich. Ms. Buxton facilitated long-term partnerships with her clients that reached well beyond project management training classes. These activities encompassed identifying new business opportunities, working with client champions to promote project management initiatives, conducting needs analysis and assessments, developing customized training programs, assisting clients in developing professional career tracks, and delivering executive briefings.

Ms. Buxton was involved with instructional systems design as both an instructional designer and a subject matter expert. She gained extensive experience with hands-on course development as well as the management of entire curricula and teams of product development professionals

In earlier positions, Ms. Buxton participated in a global corporate Total Quality initiative and was a member of a select group of Master Facilitators delivering workshops to company associates worldwide. She also was an instructional designer developing video and computer based training for the aerospace and health care industries.

Ms. Buxton founded Windward Project Management LLC to provide project managers and team members with a learning experience that can be directly applied in the workplace and to create an instructional environment that allows real project issues to be addressed.
